2025 Mabel Jones Recipient
The Minerva Historical Society is pleased to award a $10,000 Mabel Jones Scholarship for Academic Excellence to Valedictorian
Addison McCall, Class of 2025 Addison graduated at the top of her class from Minerva Central School, where she distinguished herself through both academic achievement and outstanding leadership. During her high school years, she participated in Academic Bowl, yearbook, Youth and Government, National Honor Society, chorus, Culture Club, and numerous class fundraising efforts. A dedicated student leader, Addison was elected Class President all four years of high school. She will attend SUNY Plattsburgh this fall, where she is enrolled in a competitive five-year program that will lead to both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Adolescent Education with a focus in English. The Society congratulates Addison on her many accomplishments and is proud to support her continued academic journey through this award. |
Every September, K-6 grades from Minerva Central School visit the Museum. The Society sponsors an Essay Contest with an awards ceremony at the Museum in October, We are dedicated to encouraging children's knowledge of Minerva history.

Donated to the Society by the Brannon/Savarie family, the one room school house in Irishtown is our newest project. Restorations to this building have been completed by the Society, due to the contributions from local citizens, so visitors can now appreciate school days of the late early 1900's.
Update on Kara's JourneyKara Tucker class of 2024 was the first recipient of the Minerva Historical Society Scholarship Award. The Society is pleased to announce that Kara will be graduating in 2026 with her RN Certification. She is currently planning on pursing a BN at SUNY Plattsburg. A check in the amount of $3000 was sent to Kara to help with her expenses. |
