Quarterlies

In April of 1971, the Historical Society embarked on a new mission. They were looking for a way to more immediately share the wealth of information that they had been collecting as well as to keep members informed of current business.
Past issues can be found here.
Minerva History Books

In 1967, the Society published the first history book for the Town of Minerva entitled "Minerva 1817 - 1967: A History of a town in Essex Co., N.Y". It soon became apparent that a different means of not only communicating the past history of our town but recording the history being made every day was needed. In 1971, the Historical Society decided to supplement the history book with the publication of a Quarterly. In April of 1971, the first issue was published. The first article on page one, entitled "A New Venture" explained that the Quarterly "will give us an opportunity to place in the hands of our members, and other interested people, some of the materials we have been collecting through the years."

The Historical Society has since published two more history Books. The 2nd book was published in 1986 with the title "Minerva 1817 - 1985: Supplement to the 1967 town history." The 3rd book was published in 2019 and bears the title "Minerva Established 1817: A History of a Town in Essex Country, N.Y. 1986 - 2017."

In 1985 the Historical Society received its 501(c)(3) Not-For-Profit status.

The Minerva Historical Association has dedicated the last 67 years to the collection and preservation of the Town of Minerva's history.
