Current Exhibit
Promotional image for the Minerva Historical Society Museum exhibit “Founders and Foundations,” opening July 4, 2026, featuring a historic mill scene representing early industry in Minerva.
Founders and Foundations explores the people, families, and forces that shaped the earliest years of Minerva.

From the first settlers who arrived in the early 1800s to the mills, farms, and roads they built, this exhibit brings together research, artifacts, and stories that reveal how a wilderness became a community. It is a look not only at where Minerva began, but at the choices, challenges, and connections
that allowed it to take root and grow.

Museum History
The Minerva Historical Society was formed in 1955. It is a nonprofit, educational organization formed to promote public interest in Minerva's History and folklore. The Methodist Church building in the center of the Olmstedville Hamlet was deeded to the Society in 1979 and by 1981, the museum was opened to the public.
The museum opens every year on Minerva Day in July with a brand new theme and exhibit.  Exhibit items include items kept in museum storage and those loaned to the museum by our local residents.
