WHO WE ARE
President's Column January 2026 Quarterly Edition
2025 marked a remarkable year for the Minerva Historical Society as we celebrated 100 years of Minerva schools and 70 years of preserving our town’s history. Our signature exhibit, Minerva Schools: A Century of Memories, opened on Minerva Day and brought together alumni, families, and community members in a joyful celebration of our shared past. We were honored to recognize two of Minerva’s oldest alumni—Justine Wells Freebern (Class of 1946) and Vernon “Pete” Jackson (Class of 1951)during the Alumni Brunch at Donnelly Beach Pavilion. These moments reminded us why our work matters: to connect today’s Minerva with the generations who shaped it and carry our history into the future We extend our heartfelt thanks to: · The Town of Minerva for essential building maintenance and drainage upgrades · The Preservation League of New York State and grant partners for financial support · MCS, PTO, Hornbeck Boats, and other organizations for their continued collaboration · Teresa Brannon-Strohmeyer for designing our new museum banners · And especially our board members, volunteers, and supporters Your contributions—whether time, talent, or financial—made every accomplishment this year possible.
