WHO WE ARE
President Nancy Shaw speaks at the Museum Opening on Minerva Day
It was my pleasure to once again MC and welcome everyone to another Minerva Day Museum Opening. The theme this year is Woods and Water, featuring Camp Che-Na-Wah and its 100-year anniversary. You will find more about the exhibit on page 15. If you have not yet visited the museum, I encourage you to visit. Museum Director Cindy Perkins has done a marvelous job putting together an informative and fun exhibit. The museum is open Thu.—Sun. from 1-4, through August. I am sad to have to announce that Suzanne LaRocque our first museum director has passed away. Suzanne gave much to the town of Minerva and to Minerva Central School. She touched many of our hearts and will be missed. Our condolences to Suzanne’s family. This year, we are celebrating Lavery Dam’s reconstruction 25 years as well as Donnelly Beach’s 65 year anniversary. Next year we will have several organizations and groups to recognize and we are looking forward to highlighting some of their accomplishments. Minerva Historical Society President Nancy W. Shaw |
